ETF Industry KPI – 03/04/2021

Week of April 26, 2021 KPI Summary

This week, the industry experienced 3 ETF launches and 2 closures, shifting the 2021 YTD Open-to-Close ratio to 1.49 and total US ETFs to 2,489. The month of April showed significant progress in the ETF industry. Total assets increased approximately 4.2%, an increase of 12 ETFs to total US ETF count, and 8 additional issuers by brand. From our 11 asset class categories, Commodities Derivative increased the most (10.12%) and Currency had the largest drop (-7.55%) with Volatility close behind (-6.27%). The two largest asset classes of Equity (77.39% of assets) and Fixed Income (17.52%) both grew 5.28% and 3.23% respectively. Lastly, the ETF Market share of listings stayed close to the same while the ETF ER 12-month revenue grew from approximately $10.21 to $10.69 Billion in the month of April. Both indexes experienced minimal change in April, Toroso ETF Industry Index was up 6.66% while the S&P Financial Select Sector Index trailed at 6.57%.
