ETF Industry KPI – 10/18/2021

Week of October 11, 2021 KPI Summary
  • This week, the industry experienced 3 new ETF launches and 4 closures, shifting the 2021 YTD Open-to-Close ratio to 3.26 and total US ETFs to 2,696.
  • It was an excellent week for ETF assets, rising nearly two percent.
  • As a result, the ETF expense ratio 12-month revenue increased approximately $280 million from last week to total $12.39 billion.
  • As a quick check-in, here are a few KPIs to compare from exactly one year ago.
    • Open-to-close ratio was 0.91 and is now 3.26.
    • Total ETF assets were $4.91 trillion and are $6.79 trillion today.
    • The ETF expense ratio 12- month revenue was $8.98 billion and, as previously mentioned, is now $12.39 billion.
    • Lastly, there were 152 issuers by brand which has surged to 220 total.
  • Both indexes experienced minimal change over the last week, the Toroso ETF Industry Index was up 2.22% while the S&P Financial Select Sector Index trailed at 1.24%.
