ETF Industry KPIs -11/02/2020

Week of October 26, 2020 KPI Summary

This week, the ETF industry experienced declines in many areas, including number of ETFs, assets and revenue. There were 6 new ETFs launched this week, but 11 closed, bringing the Open-to-Close ratio down to 0.90. One-week change in US ETF assets was -4.36%, with total US ETF assets dropping from $4.90 Tn to $4.69 Tn. Change YTD for assets is still positive 6.09%, however. Active ETFs are now 3% of the assets but almost 8% of industry revenue.

ETF Exchange Ratio revenue is in a similar situation, dropping from $8.95 Bn to $8.56 Bn. One-week returns for both indexes also fell; the Toroso ETF Industry Index is at -5.14% this week, as opposed to -1.74% last week. The S&P Financial Select Sector Index is at -5.49% this week, as opposed to 1.03% last week.
