ETF Industry KPIs – 06/30/2020

June 22, 2020 KPI Summary

This week, fourteen new ETFs launched and three closed, bringing the open-to-close ratio to 0.94 and total US ETFs up to 2,286. The 1-week change in US assets continues to fluctuate, cancelling out last week’s 2% increase and bringing total assets, revenue and YTD change back to the same stats as 6/14. The Toroso ETF Industry Index returns show a significant decrease from last week. This decrease is especially prevalent in the 3-month returns. However, the Toroso ETF Industry Index is still outperforming the S&P Financial Select Sector Index by almost 20 percent since inception.

Why Follow the ETF Industry KPIs

The team at Toroso Investments began tracking the ETF Industry Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in the early 2000’s and have been consistently reporting on, and analyzing these metrics ever since. The table above was the impetus for the creation of the TETF.Index, the index that tracks the ETF industry. Each week, we will share the statistics we believe to be the most useful for identifying industry trends, in addition to the performance of the TEFT.Index.
