25 YEARS AGO, AN INNVESTING REVOLUTION WAS BORN
Last week the ETF industry turned 25 years young on the birthday of SPY from State Street.
In this week’s TETFindex update, we celebrate a quarter century of ETF growth with a look at the current state of the industry.

As you can see the ETF industry assets and most funds are focused on equities. One surprise is that although leveraged/inverse funds represent 11 % of all listed ETFs they have captured about 1% of the assets.

Traditional beta has captured the majority of the assets while Smart beta has dominated the listings.
