ETF Industry KPI – 9/13/2022

Week of September 6, 2021 KPI Summary
  • This week, the industry experienced 13 new ETF launches and 1 closure, shifting the 2021 1-year Open-to-Close ratio to 2.56 and total US ETFs to 2,626.
  • It was a down week for the ETF universe with assets dropping -1.34% and assets falling to $6.74 Trillion.
  • The Open-to-Close ratio continues to reach new highs. In our Get Think Tanked discussion last Thursday, it was asked how many of these launches and closures were Active ETFs. Of the 418 ETF launches in the past 12-months that are still open, 258 have been Active ETFs (61.7%) with the remaining majority of Non-traditional (36.6%).
  • Other KPI’s have been holding steady this week with no major swings.
  • Both indexes experienced minimal change over the last week, the Toroso ETF Industry Index was down -1.81% while the S&P Financial Select Sector Index led at -1.28%.
