Week of August 2, 2021 KPI Summary
  • This week, the industry experienced 8 new ETF launches and no closures, shifting the 2021 YTD Open-to-Close ratio to 2.31 and total US ETFs to 2,613.
  • In a 3-month view, total assets increased 4.33% from approximately 6.34 Tn to 6.63 Tn dollars.
    • Total US ETFs increased by +117 (more than one per day) and there are 19 additional Issuers by Brand.
    • The two top performing sectors in the 3-month view are Commodities Derivative (+14.23%) and Options (15.84%). The only two sectors in the red are Volatility (-20.22%) and Commodities Physical (-4.03%).
    • Equity and Fixed income both having good 3-month performance with +5.01% and +5.21% respectively.
    • Revenue from Non-Traditional Beta has increased from 37.05% to 41.51% while Active decreased from 10.17% to 9.83%.
    • Lastly, NYSE and Nasdaq increased their market share of listings +0.58% and +0.36% while CBOE dropped 0.14%.
  • Through the last three months, the ETF universe has seen slow, steady growth in assets with a plethora of new launches.
  • Both indexes experienced mild change over the last 3-months, the Toroso ETF Industry Index is up 4.95% while the S&P Financial Select Sector Index trails at 1.18%.
